Pacific Life was founded in 1868, in Sacramento, California. In 1959, it was reorganized as a mutual insurance company. From its beginnings on the west coast, Pacific Life has spread its holdings across the US. Currently, it is a subsidiary of Pacific Life Group. Sister companies are Pacific LifeCorp, Pacific Life & Annuity Company, and the Pacific Mutual Holding Company. Total assets for Pacific Life Insurance Company are $68.4 billion, with net life insurance sold worth $174 billion. Pacific Life is a member of IMSA and insures over half of the 100 largest companies in the US.
Pacific Life Insurance Products
Pacific Life offers universal life insurance, variable universal life insurance, interest-sensitive whole life insurance, joint and last survivor life insurance, and tem life insurance. They focus on both individuals and small businesses. They offer five different term life insurance plans at competitive rates:
- Protector – 10
- Level premiums for ten years
- Renewable after ten years, but premiums will increase annually
- Medical exams not needed to renew
- Option to convert to permanent life
- Protector-20
- Level premiums for twenty years
- Renewable after twenty years, but premiums will increase annually
- Medical exams not needed to renew
- Option to convert to permanent life
- Protector-ART
- Coverage renewable to age 100
- Premiums increase annually
- Medical exams not needed to renew
- Option to convert to permanent life
- One Year Term (OYT)
- Non-renewable
- A new policy may be bought with proof of insurability new policies may be issued to age
- level death benefit
- Refund of unearned premium is payable at death
- Last Survivor One Year Term (LSOYT)
- Death benefits repayable after the deaths of both insured
- Conditions are similar to OYT.
